After releasing his second LP The Midnight Sun earlier in the year, Glaswegian singer-songwriter C Duncan has unveiled a new video for latest single ‘Other Side.’ The track is described by Duncan himself as “perhaps the most poppy track on the album” and is all about escapism, using light but reverberating synth tones and a looping piano as its basis. The new clip has been directed by Helen Plumb and follows a woman as she attempts to flee her own existence through a variety of costumes before eventually settling in the snow wrapped in a suit made of a duvet.
Plumb said of the video: “Other Side is about taking yourself elsewhere to escape your troubles. I wanted the video to reflect that in a metaphorical rather than physical sense. Rondi Park, a Brighton based artist, often uses costume to embody an idea. I wanted her character in the video to experience escapism from the mundane reality she is familiar with by transforming herself into weird and wonderful entities.” Watch below.
C Duncan will also be supporting Elbow on their tour in March next year but before that he’s heading off on his own headline tour of the UK. Details below.
