After returning with the single ‘Meditations on Loss’ earlier in the year, Brighton-based semi-experimental rock band Tall Ships revealed that they’d be releasing their long-awaited second album Impressions on 10th February via FatCat Records. At the time, keyboardist James Field explained: We couldn’t wait on other people any longer. We recorded and engineered it all. The DIY nature of it is one of necessity, not aesthetic.”
They’ve now just unveiled a brand new track from the LP. Called ‘Day By Day,’ it burns slowly over its six minute length to become an anthemic singalong moment. Its atmospheric guitars and refrain promoting togetherness could make it an album highlight. Frontman Ric Phethean said: “‘Day by Day’ was written during a summer in Berlin and was the first song we wrote for Impressions. It’s about striving to live in the moment.” Listen below.
