Montreal band The Dears will be returning with a brand new album, Times Infinity Volume One, on 3rd February 2017 on Dangerbird Records. The LP is the first half of a two-part body of work to be recorded over a two-year period at Toronto’s Revolution Recording and Montreal’s Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango. Frontman Murray A. Lightburn says of the project: “Putting these two records together was like solving a puzzle: Volume One was about finding the edge pieces while Volume Two was about the middle pieces. It was very difficult to wrap one’s head around at first, but by the end of production, it just became easier and easier. It’s a metaphor for life, and our life’s story.”
To coincide with the announcement, the band have unveiled the first single from the LP, ‘I Used To Pray For The Heavens To Fall.’ The cosmic indie number is accompanied by a charming animated lyric video. Listen below.
After the release of the new album, The Dears will also be heading out on a short tour of the UK in February. It’s their first UK tour in six years. Details below.
