NEWS: Girl Ray share new track ‘Where Am I Now’

North London band Girl Ray recently unveiled their debut single on Moshi Moshi Records, ‘Trouble.’  They’ve now revealed the B-side, ‘Where Am I Now,’ yet another slice of sophisticated indie pop.  Poppy Hankin of the band said:  “The song is about being in a really low and difficult place, and finding that even as you try to come out of it, the thought and pressure of happiness as a final destination can sometimes be scary and overwhelming in its unfamiliarity.”

Taking inspiration from videos of classic girl groups, the single’s accompanying video has been shot in stark black and white by Rita Maria Conry.  It features the band members singing to bedroom mirrors and making up dance routines.  Conry said:  “Girl Ray have known each other forever so I wanted to show that through their looks and glances and private jokes […]  I took inspiration for the split screen from the layout of images in magazines, which also adds to the contemporary vibe.”  Watch below.
