When: 11th-14th January 2017
Where: Groningen, The Netherlands
Acting as a key platform for emerging European music, Eurosonic Noorderslag returns to Groningen in January to help break even more new acts to an international audience. Over 350 bands will be playing in a variety of intimate venues in the city at the event, representing more than 23 European countries.
84 new acts have just been added to the bill, including electro-acoustic composer Anna Meredith, who brings her Scottish Album of Year Varmints to the festival. Copenhagen-based alt-indie pair Palace Winter will be performing songs from their debut album Waiting for the World to Turn, while German indie-pop duo Gurr will also be showcasing their own debut record, In My Head.
Elsewhere, there will be sets from Spanish psych-pop outfit Baywaves, ragged noise-rock group Black Foxxes, and alt-pop duo EKKAH. London-based psych rock outfit Swedish Death Candy and atmospheric Norwegian group Klangstof will also play, as will Danish electro-R&B trio CHINAH. They’re all joining the likes of Anna of the North, Anne-Marie, Bonzai, Declan McKenna, Seramic and Wyvern Lingo.
