Irish oddballs Meltybrains? are set to release their brand new EP Kiss Yourself on 18th November. The band have built a reputation for pushing the boundaries and taking risks with their experimental pop sound, following in the footsteps of the likes of Micachu and Gang Gang Dance. They have also proven to be the antithesis of bands with a highly manufactured image, something that’s set to continue with the release of the typically bonkers Kiss Yourself.
They’re now previewing the EP with a brand new track, ‘Step,’ and an accompanying video directed by Brendan Corcoran and Slawomir Bracki. It’s oddly dark and foreboding, with the images of the band playing reflected straight down the middle. Things take a bit of a twisted and unsettling turn when the image of their drummer’s forceful playing transforms into multiple machines, seemingly with legs. Watch below.
This month the band are heading out on a short tour of the UK. Details below.
11th November – Eagle Inn, Manchester
12th November – Legion of Lost Souls, Liverpool
15th November – Dalston Victoria, London
25th November – The Academy, Dublin
