Glam rock and surf-rock fusionists The Lemon Twigs – aka brothers Michael and Brian D’Addario -have just released their debut LP Do Hollywood via 4AD. Before releasing the album, they shared the single ‘As Long As We’re Together,’ which brought together harmonies reminiscent of the Beatles with the theatricality of Queen and surf vibes of The Beach Boys.
The single now has a new video, directed by Autumn de Wilde and filmed in the pair’s native California. Channelling a sense of retro-fusionism, the pair perform and perform some flashy moves within an uncanny landscape. De Wilde said of the video: “I knew I wanted to do a performance video, but still place them in an electric surreal dream world. The wind picked up and howled through us. The car wouldn’t start. My bare-bones camera department was DP Matt Lloyd, producer Saul Germaine, two shitty folding chairs, me and a camera. The dust and wind became a monster we were battling all day, but we all had a blast…. and damn it looked good.” Watch below.
