After returning with a new single, ‘Meditations on Loss,’ earlier in the year, Brighton-based semi-experimental rock band Tall Ships have announced details of their brand new album, Impressions. Due for release on 10th February via FatCat Records, it’s the group’s first album since 2012’s Everything Touching, and comes after a turbulent period for them, where they were left with no manager or label. But as keyboardist Jamie Field explains: “We couldn’t wait on other people any longer. We recorded and engineered it all. The DIY nature of it is one of necessity, not aesthetic.” Bassist Matt Parker adds: “If someone had just come to us and given us the money to make a second album right away, it would’ve been completely different. It’s a product of everything that’s happened over the past four years.” Watch the video for ‘Meditations on Loss’ below.
