San Diego noise pop band duo Crocodiles are releasing their new album Dreamless on 21st October via their own label Zoo Music. Speaking of the album, Brandon Welchez said: “We’ve always been a guitar band and I think we just wanted to challenge ourselves and our aesthetic […] It didn’t start as a conscious decision but within the first week Charlie’s mantra became ‘fuck guitars’. Only one song has zero guitar but in general we tried to find alternatives to fill that space.”
Having already unveiled ‘Telepathic Lover,’ they’re building up to the record’s imminent release with an aptly titled new track, ‘Not Even in Your Dreams.’ Despite being about insomnia and anxiety, it’s a strangely upbeat number that will serve as the closer to the album. There’s even a catchy guitar hook in there, showing that the pair haven’t quite abandoned the instrument yet. Listen below.
From next week, Crocodiles are also heading out on a short UK tour. Details below.
