Maybe it’s just me, but when things are at odds with each other, it makes it all that much more interesting. Like this, for instance: Jazz Mino‘s latest single ‘Hurt’ and the video that accompanies it. The video is pretty much the epitome of the mundane, and offering a snapshot of an average day in London at the same time.
The track, however, is not part of the mundane. It’s sharp and snappy whilst also being cool and breezy, and I’m almost certain there’s a sneaky sample of Stereophonics‘ ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ in there, the song itself influenced by Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit, and Anne Marie. It’s a brilliant slice of electro-pop that brings with it a little splash of sunshine, itself at odds with today’s dreary, wet, and cold day.
‘Hurt’ is available to buy now on iTunes. Hear more of Jazz Mino on SoundCloud.
