Preaching From The Pews: Glue

Preaching From The Pews: Glue

That sweet spot between early Bright Eyes and Arcade Fire, it’s all ragged screamed vocals and like our society, it’s see-sawing on the edge of catastrophe and triumph; ‘Badlands’ is about finding solace in love and existing happily on the periphery of prescription while escaping stress and regrets.’

The video is a tribute to East London’s beautiful overground vistas:

Robin and Ralph have been musically glued ever since the latter spotted Robin’s faded Clash t-shirt across the bar in their first year of university in Bristol.  A promising yet chaotic band fell apart and Ralph relocated to his hometown of London while Robin bailed to Barcelona for a bit.

In London, Ralph got another band, Projected Images, off the ground whilst getting heavily involved with activist groups such as UK Uncut and Occupy.  This informed the direction of Projected Images and the band became a quasi-protest act, one high point being a feature on contemporary protest music by Dorian Lynskey in the Guardian.  With Robin back in the fold and Henning raising the drum bar we felt we’d evolved together and decided to spend some time out writing, rehearsing and recording and Glue was born.
