Icelandic sisters Jófríõur and Ásthildur Ákadóttir, or Pascal Pinon, recently released their new album Sundur on Morr Music. One of Sundur’s highlights is the sparse and barren ‘Orange.’ Jófríõur said of the track: “The main themes in ‘Orange’ is wordplay (repeating phrases but changing one word to alter the whole meaning), diary – or a kind of memoir-styled lyrics and imagining you’re in a piano bar in the 50’s singing about your loves and tragedies.”
‘Orange’ now has a brand new video that picks up on the song’s overarching narrative. It follows three different love affairs, two that fail and one that leaves a glimmer of hope for the future at the end. The twist is that these affairs are played out via the medium of contemporary and interpretative dance and take place in the wilds. Watch below.
Pascal Pinon are also playing a handful of UK dates in November as part of a wider European tour. Details below.
18th November – The Waiting Room, London
19th November – The Louisiana, Bristol
20th November – The Hope, Brighton
