Billingham garage rock duo Mouses are gearing up to release their debut LP – The Mouses Album – on 23rd September via Sister 9 Recordings. In the run-up to its launch, the pair already shared the typically energetic, scuzzy cut ‘Green.’ At the time, guitarist and singer Steven Bardgett said that the track was about “the morality of a certain drug and the stigma that surrounds it. I’ve always been a purveyor of the idea that legality and morality don’t always go hand in hand.”
Now ‘Green’ has a tongue-in-cheek video to accompany it. Filmed by Hana Harrison, it sees Bardgett and drummer Nathan Duff sporting mouse-inspired face paint and ears frolicking in the woods. Bardgett said: “The video is our take on a nature documentary. It kind of amplifies the idea that nature should be viewed and experienced rather than controlled or tampered with. Also, we just wanted to dress up as mice and run around to be honest. That’s probably the main reason.”
He continued: “Things got off to a slow start. On the first day of filming for this, we drove about 40 minutes to Castle Eden Dene to get some footage. When we were in the middle of the forest ready to start filming, some people rode through on quad bikes and motorbikes. They looked at us for a while and we got scared so we just went back home.” Watch below.
