Hot Shorts are probably the most fun band in Manchester right now. If you’ve seen them live you know this: their songs consist largely of one riff and some words about how stupid life is, or how brilliant cats are, or how rubbish it is to have a job.
On 18 November their self-titled debut album will be released through Super Smash Hit Records (who have previously released tapes by Mat Riviere and Patty Hearst so you know they’re good) and they’re having a bit of a party for it the same day at the Star & Garter. We’ll see you there, but in the meantime, we’ll be dancing around to lead single which is a lovely little slice of surfy grunge pop about the frustrations of maintaining a relationship in the modern world called ‘My Phone is a Fucking Piece of Shit’.
