Hosted at London’s Union Chapel, the Daylight Music series brings together a diverse range of artists to play almost every Saturday afternoon. In the past the event has hosted mini-gigs by everyone from Nils Frahm to Laetitia Sadier. The series is back for its Winter Season from 17th September, with a brand new, equally diverse line-up.
Things kick off on the 17th with member of The Magic Numbers Michele Stodart, set to play tunes from her second solo album Pieces. Offbeat Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Laura J Martin follows the next week, while gloom-pop artist She Makes War supports country music cover artists Independent Country. In a special edition of Daylight Music, the organ takes centre stage as eight artists – including Laetitia Sadier and Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch – explore the relationship between the instrument’s pipes and their own.
Later in the season, North Sea Radio Orchestra return after a four-year break to play their haunting mix of orchestral indie. Experimental fiddle and recorder player Laura Cannell presents ‘Memory Mapping,’ bringing together musicians whose work is deeply inspired by their surroundings. There’s even two top-secret Christmas shows to get punters into the festive spirit.
