Iconic guitarist Peter Hook is gearing up to release his brand new book, his third so far, on 6th October through Simon & Schuster. Substance – Inside New Order will be a no-holds-barred and comprehensive account of New Order’s entire history, from their immense success to their turbulent relationships with one another. It’s set to be filled with anecdotes, written in the genial, detailed and insightful manner of his previous works.
There’s also a number of geeky facts about every piece of electronic equipment that was used to forge the band’s revolutionary sound. It’s the first time Hook has written specifically about his days in New Order, with his previous books focusing on legendary club The Hacienda and his time in Joy Division.
Hook’s new band The Light are set to tour the UK and beyond from September onwards, playing Joy Division’s and New Order’s Substance albums. Details are forthcoming.
