Held at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, London, the DMC World Championship finals return on 24th September its 30th year, when the event will decide who is the world’s best DJ. In the past the competition has played host to Run DMC and Public Enemy, as well as Janet Jackson and even James Brown.
Set to perform for the first time in the UK since 1998, Invisibl Skratch Piklz are set to show off their immense turn-tabling skills. The group, who came to prominence in the 80s, continually proved to be a tour-de-force when it comes to the art of mixing and scratching, seeing off any competition that came their way. They’ll be hoping to do the same at the event.
However, they’ll have stuff competition from beatboxer aficionado Killa Kela and his crew The Spitkingdom. One of the UK’s most talented turntablists, DJ Woody, will also be appearing, as will The Beatbox Collective who said: “Amazing and honoured to be part of this historical event… an influential event leading the way for the Beatbox scene.” Pop-and-lock legend Popmaster Fabel of the Rock Steady Crew will also be making an appearance.
