Having drawn comparisons the blurry indie of Alvvays and Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Oakland-based artist Hazel English is gearing up to release her debut EP on 7th October via House Anxiety/ Marathon Artists. Never Going Home has been produced by Jackson Phillips, better known as lo-fi indie maestro Day Wave, and is designed as a snapshot of her DIY creations to date, with three previously unheard tracks on the collection alongside the title track. She plans to release a track every three weeks on to digital platforms in the run up to the EP’s release.
The title track now also has a brand new video. The song was previously available as a demo on her SoundCloud page but has been given a little bit of a polish and is now accompanied by a clip in which English traverses the mountaintops. It’s a firm representation of the lofty, beautiful tunes that she creates. Watch below.
