NEWS: Death Grips, Nina Kraviz and more join Simple Things Festival 2016 line-up

When: 22nd-23rd October 2016
Where: Various venues, Bristol

Following on from the announcement that Warpaint, Ben UFO, Suuns, Jessy Lanza and Steve Mason would all be playing at this year’s Simple Things Festival in Bristol, a second wave of pioneering acts have been added to the bill.

Seminal noise-rap group Death Grips bring their latest LP Bottomless Pit and their extensive back catalogue to the event.  They’re joined by gritty Russian techno artist Nina Kraviz, who’s set to add some extra bite to the festival’s already huge late-night programme.  Composer and electronic producer Anna Meredith will also be playing, accompanied by a full band.

They’re joined by a small raft of punk, prog and indie bands.  LA garage rockers Allah-Lahs and experimental math-rock trio Three Trapped Tigers are both set to play, as are rapidly-rising Stevenage punk outfit Bad Breeding.  DIY trio Dream Wife will be playing tunes from their acclaimed debut EP.  Liverpudlian alt-rockers She Drew the Gun, Australian post-punks Gold Class and rising producer Kayla Painter also join the bill.

While this year’s festival takes place on 22nd October, a separately ticketed concert takes place at the city’s Colston Hall on the 23rd, where legendary composer John Carpenter is set to take to the stage.
