Having previously shared the unreleased track ’69 Stones’ back in June, New Jersey rockers Titus Andronicus have now shared their concert film S+@dium Rock: Five Nights at the Opera in full on YouTube. The film follows the band as they played a sold out five-night run at Brooklyn’s longest-running DIY venue, Shea Stadium, just a little more than a year ago. It puts the audience face to face with the visceral nature of the band’s live performances and shows why they’ve become such a force in the flesh. An accompanying live album will be available on 9th September.
Frontman Patrick Sickles had one thing to clarify about the film, though: “There is something I have to say about this concert film […] Though there is one scene that depicts the act of ‘crowd surfing,’ Titus Andronicus does not encourage or condone such reckless behaviour at our concerts. It infringes upon the rights of those who do not consent to getting kicked in the head – people can get hurt that way. The dance floor should be a safe and respectful environment for all, and violent, aggressive behaviour has no place in a progressive gathering of true punks.”
