Last year Baltimore dreampop duo Beach House released two albums, Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars. The pair of LPs were both recorded in the same two-month stretch, but Thank Your Lucky Stars was released a whole two months after Depression Cherry. So perhaps it’s no surprise that they have only just unveiled the first official video for ‘The Traveller,’ which comes from the later album.
Directed by media artist and founder of Telefantasy Studios Jennifer Juniper Straford, the clip was shot using an obsolete television camera and processed with a video synthesiser. It was then further processed with a reconfigured broadcast mixer, which gives the video its very retro colour palette and distinctive, fuzzy and flaring effects. Watch below.
