As part of Manchester’s Science in the City Festival, producer, composer and winner of the Scottish Album of the Year award Anna Meredith will be joined by twelve young and emerging female musicians and multi-disciplinary artists at a special event at the Museum of Science and Industry tonight. Alongside guitarist and composer Jack Ross, and visual artist Eleanor Meredith, she led a four day residency for the young women between 18th-21st July.
The group have created a work that has been inspired by the museum’s exhibition ‘Wonder Materials: Graphene and Beyond.’ The exhibition looks at the discovery of the material, which is made from a single atom layer of carbon and is super lightweight, conductive and strong. This premiere performance takes place as part of the Artistic Directors Series.
