Kristian C Williams, also known as alt-indie artist Prints Jackson, is on a mission to release a song a month until he dies. Having previously written music for video games, film and television, Williams is using this ambitious project as a way of being able to experiment with a variety of sounds. It’s also giving him the opportunity to collaborate with other musicians. The vast majority of singles in the series has featured a guest musician, lending even more diversity to Williams’ works.
‘Sail On Phaelon’ is his latest effort, due for release on 8th August. On it, he’s joined by two cult alt rock icons, Jim Ward of At The Drive In and Ward’s Sleepercar bandmate Gabe Gonzalez. It’s an anthemic slice of indie rock but with an ethereal electronic opening and production that moves between stadium sheen and lo-fi splendour. There’s more to this single than just a sing-along chorus and power chords, with more layers of sonic depth revealing themselves in time. Listen below.
