London six-piece Lola Colt release their new single ‘Moonlight Mixing’ on the 1st of July via Black Tigress Records, a mind expanding garage song with explosively melodramatic vocals and swirling organs. “Sugar for my baby” goes the irresistible refrain over a twitching beat, its reminiscent of the dark narratives of early P J Harvey colliding with the 60s-psych sound all crafted into a monumental blues tune. We have the video premiere here:
“Moonlight Mixing is the second single, following Gold (May, 2016), to be taken from the London sextet’s second long-player Twist Through The Fire. The release follows Lola Colt’s debut Away From The Water (2014, Fuzz Club Records).
Their live C.V. includes many headline UK/European tours including sold-out gigs at the capital’s venues such as Electrowerkz; performances at Liverpool Psych Fest, France’s Levitation, Amsterdam’s London Calling and Grauzone, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, Live At Leeds, Stockton Calling, Secret Garden Party, X-Posure and the main stages at both Rockaway Beach and most recently Manchester’s Cosmosis, alongside The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
