When: 15th-16th October 2016
Where: Northern Quarter, Manchester
After another successful event in 2015, A Carefully Planned Festival will be bringing over 150 independent and alternative artists to various locations in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in October. 80 acts for the weekend of live music have already been announced. Experimental drone ensemble Vibracathedral Orchestra and alt pop flautist Laura J Martin are both on the bill, exemplifying the huge range of artists the organisers are showcasing at this year’s event.
Birmingham indie rock four piece Johnny Foreigner will be bringing tunes from their upcoming album Mono No Aware to the event. Meanwhile, Cardiffians Joanna Gruesome are set to play their infectious noise pop. Elsewhere, orchestral pop act AJIMAL will be performing songs from his emotive debut album Childhood. At the noisier end of the spectrum, the provocative Sly & the Family Drone will be providing one of their typically chaotic sets, while Glasgow’s Toy Mountains bring their alt rock with a tinge of hardcore to the event.
A large number of rising bands are also on the bill. Anglo-Norwegian fuzz pop duo Her’s, alt indie rockers OhBoy! and infectious trio Peaness have all joined the line-up. There’s also music from doom-laden Glaswegians FVNERALS, ambient electronic artist Tusks, singer-songwriter Oh Peas, and mutant 50s pop group Trudy and the Romance.
Many more acts for this year’s event are still to be announced, but limited early bird tickets are now available through Dice and Billeto.
