Next Friday singer and producer Natasha Khan, aka Bat For Lashes, is releasing her fourth album The Bride. Ahead of its release, the new record is now streaming in full via NPR. A concept album inspired by Khan’s film I Do, The Bride centres around a woman left to contemplate her grief and future after her fiancé is killed in a car accident on their wedding day.
The LP features the recent single ‘Sunday Love’ as well as the teaser tracks ‘In God’s House,’ ‘Joe’s Dream’ and ‘I Do.’ On the whole, it sees Khan returning more to the minimalism of her first album Fur and Gold and moving slightly away from the electronic pop of 2012’s The Haunted Man. It’s an emotive record punctuated by haunting soundscapes, flourishes of bluesy guitar and strings. Listen below.
The Bride is officially released on 1st July via Parlophone.
