Back in March, London wonky-pop trio Kero Kero Bonito released their single ‘Lipslap,’ their first new music for nine months and an initial preview of their upcoming second album. Continuing the run up to the LP’s release, they’ve unveiled a new song and video. ‘Break’ still contains the heavy J-Pop and 90s influences that have peppered their work for the past year. However, while it still retains some signature tropical vibes, it also shows that the band can exercise restraint with their music, resulting in one of their most chilled tracks to date.
In the video, frontwoman Sarah Bonito poses and relaxes with a cocktail in hand across various locations, including a supermarket, a station platform, a lift and even a travellator. While she seems very relaxed, the passing crowds look upon her impromptu breaks with sceptical looks. Watch below.
Kero Kero Bonito’s debut album is expected to be released in the autumn, but in the meantime the band have also confirmed a new date in London, playing at the Scala on 9th November. They are also playing at this year’s Latitude festival between 14th-17th July.
