Future of the Left have announced their return following their second successful crowdfunding venture for new LP The Peace and Truce of Future of the Left with the deafeningly brilliant single ‘If AT&T Drank Tea, What Would BP Do?’ The fact that they met their crowdfunding target in a mere three and a half hours should be enough to demonstrate the excitement around this new release, the first following the successful run of shows exclusively playing Mclusky songs.
Ignoring the typically daft title, it’s everything you could possibly want from a new FOTL record, a chunky bassline, shrieking guitars and frontman Andy Falkous exclaiming (unless we’re very much mistaken) “The gammon on the bed was fine, Danny”. We won’t argue that the Mclusky “reunion” gigs have informed the new direction based on this song alone, as their previous album How To Stop Your Brain In An Accident was their most diverse set so far, but this new slab of noise rock sets the bar high. Very exciting.
