Sam Beam, better known as folk singer Iron & Wine, and fellow American singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop are set to release a collection of duets, Love Letter for Fire, on 15th April. In the run up to the album’s release, they’ve released the video for new single ‘Valley Clouds.’ Directed by Erin Elders and taking its inspiration from Scandinavian films of the ‘60s and ‘70s, the video follows a couple as they tour the karaoke circuit. They deliver a theatrical version of Beam and Hoop’s song while a diverse but unenthusiastic band of people bear witness to their performance. Watch below.
Love Letter for Fire was recorded, produced and mixed by Tucker Martine, best known for his work with Modest Mouse, Neko Case and the Decemberists in Portland. The duo also recently shared a short film talking about the conception and making of the album, which also features some footage of the pair playing stripped-down versions of songs from the album.
As well as embarking on a tour of North America, Beam and Hoop are set to play at End of the Road Festival, which takes place at Larmer Tree Gardens between 2nd and 4th September.
