The Great Escape revealed details of its Insights programme for 2016. The annual convention will bring together 3500 industry professionals to discuss challenges facing the music business.
The keynote speaker will be Pledge Music’s founder Benji Rogers, who will outline ways in which new technologies can make digital payments quicker and fairer. Digital music experts Sammy Andrews and Andy Edwards will join him to explore issues around transparency and digital royalties.
Brittney Bean, digital entrepreneur and Tracks2 co-founder, will host a discussion of the future of music video. Speakers will look at how the artistic freedom of the medium can be balanced with its commercial potential, including the licensing challenges it presents.
Chris Cooke of CMU, DICE’s Jen Long and DJ/producer John ‘00’ Fleming will host a DIY Programme, focusing on the challenges artists face in putting on live events.
