OFF Festival Katowice is entering its second decade with a dangerously extreme and fiercely alternative opening line up score that once again reaffirms its off-kilter credentials. Why book the same names as everyone else and bask in the grinding tedium of safe choices when you can have brutal relentless grindcore of Napalm Death, or gritty social realism of Sleaford Mods‘ austerity Britain death rattle, or visionary sounds of Machinedrum, or witty-but-fierce screaming American punks Beach Slang? Why indeed.
This is a truly spectacular opening gambit. We can’t wait to hear what this remarkable event has in store for us next.
