Sounding as though it belongs in some cult film from the 1970s, London five-piece Straw Bear‘s upcoming single ‘All You Need Is An Electric Guitar’ shimmers into view. Given the time of year – with Christmas bearing down on us faster than some of us would like – it’s very much at odds with the wind and the rain; the track is drenched in a warm, hazy sunshine.
Lyrically it’s about how music can save you when you need it most. Perhaps this is just what everyone needs when you’re being pelted by rain and your socks are permanently soggy no matter what you do. Sometimes music is exactly what you need when you need a lift. It can soothe, empower, encourage – even change the world. Music is a powerful thing, and to celebrate that with a track as lovely as this one is just brilliant.
