If a spot of cannibalism takes your fancy you’d be wise to assuage that desire by getting your gnashers around this tasty morsel rather than Fred next door. With five mixes of tracks from the Antropophagus album coming November 5th by artists associated with the increasingly impressive Giallo Disco label – see also the recent Ubre Blanca EP – Mater Suspiria Vision get their twisted take on the world yet further morphed, this time solidly in the direction of the dancefloor.
Don’t be concerned that the sense of dislocation and horror associated with witch house action has been diluted, however. All is present and correct and whilst you may wanna dance you’ll still need to keep a wary eye on dubious entities encircling the sweaty throng. This is a pulsing beast of a track and takes no prisoners. An already atmospheric piece with chopped up and fucked up vocals morphs it into a thing of power and groove. Taut as you like and devastatingly effective in the dark. Most definitely in the dark. It’s music for your mind, dead body and soul. A class effort across the board and satisfyingly brutal.
