London based India raised Ethav releases an otherworldly slice of throbbing electro pop entitled ‘Warrior’ a tribal call to survival against the odds, laced with classical instrumentation and futuristic production. We have the video premiere, watch it here:
A track about persevering in the face of adversity, a rallying cry to raise the spirits and steel your purpose. “I wanted ‘Warrior’ to encapsulate a modern woman through life’s struggles,” Ethav says of the track, “as if in a battlefield, with full determination to succeed no matter what life throws at her”.
Director Cylan Shaffer draws on choreography from the Arizona State University to create an enthralling performance fusing the expression of contemporary dance and the primitive energy of tribal tradition and ritual.
“Currently based in London but born and raised in India by Persian parents, Ethav moved to Los Angeles as a teenager in pursuit of an acting career but instead turned to music to express herself during her three year stay. After various abortive attempts at forming bands, she first made her mark by writing and singing stateside club hit ‘Wild Stray Cat’, produced by Jonathan Morning.”
