Is it any wonder that Flow Festival was featured as one of our 10 Best European Festivals? No, not when you hear the exciting news about their latest line-up additions. Joining an already stellar cast – including the likes of The War on Drugs, Pet Shop Boys, Beck and Florence and the Machine – on the site of a disused power station a short walk from Helsinki city centre will be Grammy winner, composer, producer and all-round living legend Nile Rodgers. Together with Chic, the man jointly responsible for such monumental, timeless disco hits as ‘Good Times’, ‘I Want Your Love’ and ‘Le Freak’ will be making his first ever appearance in Finland. This landmark occasion coincides with the release of It’s About Time, Chic’s first album of new material in a quarter of a century.
Having announced their return after a 20 year hiatus last November, the Oxford shoegazers Ride are now ready to return to live action in what has been one of the most eagerly anticipated reunions of recent times. And South London singer and songwriter Lianne La Havas swells the ranks of Friday night at Flow, with Canadian musician, DJ and record producer Tiga taking to the stage the following day touring his first ever live show.
