Track Of The Day #673: Rozi Plain - Actually

Track Of The Day #673: Rozi Plain – Actually

untitled (153)

“A difficult year, a tumultuous year” opines London based songwriter Rozi Plain on the sumptuous tremulous, subtle, bittersweet delight that is ‘Actually’.

Delightfully lolloping  percussion is dappled in threads of guitar notes that leave glistening trails like snails do: are painted with vintage synthesiser patterns that chirp like a cuckoo and decorated in Rozi’s delicately wistful vocals.  It’s the intoxicating sound of summer fading and the uncertain sorrow of parting . Breaking up has never sounded so sweet.

It’s lifted from Rozi’s upcoming  third album Friend which is released May 4th on Lost Map.

“Rozi Plain has been making music since her brother taught her a few chords on the guitar aged 13. Raised in Winchester, she spent a few years studying art and painting boats in Bristol, where she began collaborating with long-term collaborators Kate Stables and Rachael Dadd among many others on a thriving local scene. It was there that she made her first two albums, 2008’s Inside Over Here and 2012’s Joined Sometimes Unjoined.”
Rozi Plain is currently in the midst of an exhausted tour across the UK catch her at the following venues:
