Quite wonderful combo Morton Valence release their new album ‘Another Country’ next week, it’s their fourth album in all and follows hot on the heels of last year’s fine long player ‘Left.’ To celebrate we have yet another gift wrapped video premiere from the group, this time for the track ‘First Night’ – a wistful, gloriously waltzing outlaw ballad, written after the 2011 London riots, it recounts the story of a middle-aged father arriving in jail after being “swept away by the madness.” The video comes replete with images of the riots and urban sprawl, watch it here:
‘Morton Valence have produced their most cohesive work to date, a definitive ‘urban country’ album in which the band’s love of country music predominates. Songwriter ‘Robert ‘Hacker’ Jessett, bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders, chronicles the everyday trials of big city life and those that inhabit it. On ‘Another Country’ he takes the listener on an 11 song journey, spliced with five musical segues. “
