The beginning of April promises to be a very busy time for the 22 year old singer-songwriter Denai Moore from Stratford in east London. On the 6th of the month she releases her debut album Elsewhere, immediately followed on consecutive days by three live shows in Bristol, Manchester and London.
In anticipation of this, Denai Moore has just unveiled a live video of one of the songs that will appear on the album. Recorded on the banks of the River Thames in the atmospheric surroundings of the Mermaid Theatre, Blackfriars, ‘No Light’ is a living, breathing organism of sound. As the song slowly builds towards its euphoric climax – a beautifully understated confluence of folk, pop and soul – Moore and her full live band emerge briefly into the light before disappearing once more back into the shadows.
