Cambridge outfit Tape Runs Out release their debut single ‘Friends / Flowers’, next week (30th of March) via Ear to Ear Records. To celebrate we have the premiere for their new video ‘Friends’ the song is a delightfully hazy slice of down-tempo dreamy jangle pop laced with boy/girl melodies and layered guitar reverb. It’s wistful atmosphere brings to mind the work of The Cure, Belle and Sebastian, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and M83. Watch it here:
“Tape Runs Out have being enthralling audiences around England for the past couple of years. Although they have been variously described as indie, shoegaze, dream pop and electronica, but they certainly borrow elements from these genres, they have carved out their own sound by blending cleverly crafted melodies, melancholic ambience and dreamy reverb-tinged rhythms. Headed by Liam Goodrum-Bell, Tape Runs Out’s music is infectious with a modern and unique twist, bucking stereotypical trends with songs to be savoured by those who like to ‘feel’ and absorb the music, as well as the most intricate and scrupulous music lovers.”
