Nottingham duo APRIL TOWERS release their new single ‘No Corruption’ this week. A bold, epic electro-rock-pop tune that somehow manages to remind one of the emotional potency of James, the beats of New Order, and the playfulness of the Pet Shop Boys. With heart on the sleeve vocals and possessing cinematic lyrics that encapsulate all of the frustration of an unfair capitalist society, the alienation that grows from working in a job that you hate all week, with very little to show at the end of it. It may at times teeter dangerously close to homage, but it somehow manages to be warmly reminiscent and acutely pertinent and there’s no denying its towering(excuse the pun) affect as a single.
