Formed in 2008, We Are The City are a three piece, experimental indie band based in Vancouver, Canada. They have just released a most unsettling video to accompany their new single ‘King David’, a track taken from their second album Violent which is due out in a couple of months time
Created by Amazing Factory Productions, the video sees We Are The City’s frontman Cayne McKenzie contorting before the lens whilst immersed in a strange substance as he looks deep inside himself for either answers or salvation.
The disjointed angular rhythm of the song evokes memories of the off-kilter power pop of Phoenix and the more accessible end of Yo La Tengo‘s rambling pop spectrum, a highly contagious combination that promises much for the new album.
Violent will be released via Sinnbus on 27th April 2015
