Peering out from behind their shades over the hood of a Ford Mustang on the cover of Googoo, the Bosco Rogers duo of Barthélémy Corbelet and Delphinius Vargas exude some of the laconic detached cool of their fellow Frenchman Alain Delon.
And the four songs that comprise their debut EP can be similarly located in the ‘60s, a time when Delon was in his effortless, impassive pomp. Googoo distils the true musical spirit of that decade, be it psychedelic pop, garage punk or a Beach Boys inspired surf-sound. Derivative it may well be but it sure is as catchy as hell and Googoo is bound to go down just as well at the next high school prom as it will do on any happening dancefloor.
Googoo was released on 1st December 2014 through Bleepmachine
