Go East young men. To coincide with the second, eastern leg of their Compass tour – each cardinal point having been afforded four individual dates in England in consecutive months from September through to December – the London-based quintet Feldspar have just released the second of four singles.
‘Cure For The Night’ further evidences Feldspar’s grand indie-folk ambition. Nestling itself ever so cosily in that ball park frequented by Villagers, Leisure Society and Stornoway, it is a song that breathlessly gallops along without nary missing a beat. Wrapped in a cloak of cautious self-protection, it speaks of an ephemeral, almost forbidden, burning desire. As Autumn comes falling from the sky, it is a record designed to keep you warm.
The single launch party is held tonight, Wednesday 8th October – fittingly in East London – at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen. After playing their show, Feldspar will be doing a DJ set consisting of indie-disco classics.
