With the outdoor festival season at an end, festival organisers are heading to Cardiff for a 2-day celebration and conference organised by the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF).
The event is a momentous coming together of the Association’s Founders, member festivals, broader industry and supporters, with a speaker line up that includes AIF Co-Founder Rob da Bank (Bestival / BBC6 Music), Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury/The Great Escape), Ivan Millivojev (Exit Festival/ Sundance Festival) and Jude Kelly (Southbank Centre).
The Congress will focus on the key targets and agenda for collective action within the festival industry. As well as presentations on subjects, such as audience trends and live music’s economic impact, conference panels and breakout sessions will cover a wide range of topics like ticketing, international festivals and festival curation.
The Festival Congress is taking place 17th -18th October 2014 and is open to everybody who is involved in festivals, and anyone who is interested in becoming a part of this great industry.
