The day after tomorrow sees the launch of the third Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia. Just after three o’clock on Friday afternoon Camp & Furnace and Blade Factory in the city’s creative Baltic Triangle will be opening their doors to a wonderful celebration of psychedelic sub-culture. In eager anticipation of this, a live schedule of events has just been released.
Friday the 26th of September also happens to be International Cassette Store Day and by way of a further celebration the Liverpool Psych Festival organisers have also just announced that they will be re-imagining the Liverpool post-punk band CLINIC’s Production Line art installation.
Intending to recognise the value of the compact cassette as a music format, the project will take place over the festival weekend. The PZYK Production Line Installation:
“…will use an established international festival as an audio testbed, consisting of a ‘Receiver/Performance’ workshop installation that will take five live feeds from the festival public/performance spaces and mix them live into both a rolling soundscape to be consumed by the festival audience and a series of audio cassette tapes produced by The Production Line artists, CLINIC, invited guests and artists who are taking part in the festival”.
Previously previewed on these pages, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia will be held on 26th and 27th September at Camp and Furnace and Blade Factory at 67 Greenland St, Liverpool, Merseyside L1 0BY.
