Our good friends over at the Eclectica Project in Manchester have some pretty exciting news. Their official launch event will take place on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd AUGUST at KRAAK MANCHESTER, and the word just in is that Jesca Hoop will now be headlining on the Sunday night. Elsewhere there will be panel events, one featuring TAHITA BULMER (OF NYPC) on SAT 2 AUG, and another on the Sunday with industry professionals, DJs and musicians. You can read more about this new non-profit project advocating equality for women and minorities in all industries, starting with the music industry, over at their new website www.eclecticaproj.com We’re pretty excited about anything that will promote more equality, in what is all-too-often an industry dominated by the old guard. Several spinoff events are taking place around that date, with bands from the UK and beyond taking part in celebrating the launch. These include live sets from Nina and Factory Acts, on Friday 1st August at The Castle in Manchester; Skinny Girl Diet and Esper Scout, again at the Castle on 7th August, while over in Leeds, Skinny Girl Diet and Esper Scout, supported by Sissy Hex, will play the following night, 8th August at Wharf Chambers in Leeds.
