Italian three piece Pipers have kindly given us the premiere of their new video for the track ‘Steve Lamacq’ a toe tapping acoustic song ‘about the radio’ that’s threaded with pleasant melodies and bares the name of a English DJ. Watch it here:
Bio:
‘Formed in 2007 in Naples, Italian three piece Pipers have undergone a number of changes over the last few years. The band, comprised of Stefano De Stefano (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica), Stefano “Stoo” Bruno (bass, mandolin, backing vocals) and Marco Magnacca (drums, backing vocals), developed their sound from electric-tinged indie pop to a more mature, layered alt-folk pop sound that has seen them capture the hearts and minds of a number of Britain’s most celebrated musicians and bands.
Having spent most of 2011 touring and rehearsing their new material, Pipers have returned with a refreshed sound more akin to the likes of Elliot Smith and Turin Brakes. They unveiled their new folk inspired tracks supporting Turin Brakes and Simon & Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene in 2012; some months later (February 2013) they also supported James Walsh from Starsailor during his Italian solo tour.
The sessions for their second album Juliet Grove took place in Wolverhampton at Magic Garden Recording Studios with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, Scott Matthews); the new record Juliet Grove out now through Pippola Music and Flake Records (Japan).’
