STREAM: eagleowl and Woodpigeon Split Cassette

We’ve been given the first airing of a couple of exclusive tracks from a forthcoming release on Lost Map – a super limited-edition split cassette between eagleowl and Woodpigeon. It’s the latest in their Lost Cat series – these are cassette EPs/mini-albums available only at gigs and select indie record stores.

One side of the tape is by Edinburgh’s eagleowl, leading with the track ‘eagleowl vs Woodpigeon’, which was included on their debut album this silent year – due for full-release on Jun 28 – as a friendly riposte to (formerly Edinburgh-based) Canadian pal Woodpigeon‘s song ‘Woodpigeon vs eagleowl’, as originally released on his 2010 album Die Stadt Muzikanten. The other side of the tape is all Woodpigeon, leading with – yes – ‘Woodpigeon vs eagleowl’. Stream both sides here:

Mark Hamilton talks about the tape and tour dates on Woodpigeon’s website here: http://www.woodpigeon-songbook.com/archives/3188

A quote from Lost Map boss Johnny Lynch (The Pictish Trail) ““Eagleowl’s side is like a hazy sun-warped sepia dream, and Woodpigeon’s is like campfire sparks kissing your face.”
