Scottish five-piece Dante return with news of a new album Wake, released today on Stitch Records. By way of celebration they have also released the new single No Original Art from the album as a free download.
Dante make contemporary folk music, powered by the songs of Seán McLaughlin, also a member of Idlewild’s Rod Jones’ solo project, The Birthday Suit. Bringing the songs to life with him are ex Aberfeldy member Vicky Gray (fiddle/ synth/ glock/ vocals), Stephen Thom (electric mandolin/ guitar/ vocals), Ruaridh Kidd (drums/ vocals) and Stuart Hosking (bass/ vocals). Mclaughlin’s songwriting combined with the more traditional instrumentation of the rest of the band, creates something which is both current and rooted in traditional folk music.
