Had Nadine Carina been born in a different time and place she would most probably have been a 1940’s film noir femme-fatale. She is dark, mysterious and seductive, words that can equally be used to describe ‘The Love’, the first song to appear from her forthcoming six track EP Things That People Love To Remember. It is a chiaroscuro composite of electro-folk pop, the deceptively simple instrumentation of the song’s melody contrasting starkly with the bleakness of a love that lies tantalisingly just beyond the singer’s reach. You sense that wider creative success for Carina may not prove to be quite so elusive.
Things That People Love To Remember is out on 18th November through On The Camper Records.
Nadine Carina will be playing the following dates:
19th October – The Bowery, Sheffield
20th October – Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds
31st October – The Kazimier, Liverpool
